China Ancestral Culture 24 Jan

*A replacement post for 24 Jan 2014

The bonus was kinda surprising and it was quite ok this year.

At lunch, "lady" colleague shared a lot of her China visit experience with us. It seemed like China is still following closely on the generation by generation culture. There are still a book to record name list of every generation and ancestral hall is still existing for prayer.

Annual Dinner 23 Jan

*A replacement post for 23 Jan 2014

Company annual dinner
- difficult to get a parking lot and parked at the wrong place
- luckily told by colleague from admin and parked again else couldn't exit with the exchanged ticket
- no luck to get anything from the lucky draw but only the door gift shopping voucher
- ate only best dish which was served individually (abalone sea cucumber mushroom) as the rest were meat based dishes

CNY Cookies 22 Jan

*A replacement post for 22 Jan 2014

Student brought me the Chinese New Year biscuit that I ordered earlier. Unexpectedly, the cookies were in small quantities with damn expensive prices. I thought the containers supposed to be a larger type. Unfortunately they were pretty small only.

Black sesame cookies RM20++
Egg white hazelnut crisp RM20++

Gave Up Answering 21 Jan

*A replacement post for 21 Jan 2014

"If you know how to do, you can answer all questions within half an hour.
If you don't know how to do, 5 hours also you can't answer the questions."

Perhaps my students listened to what I did tell them during their written test. Most of the them submitted their answer scripts very quickly because they did not know how to answer. My words meant a lot to them, I thought I better not to influence them too much in the future. At least they could try their best and fully utilized the allocated time to think and answer the questions.

KK Mart 20 Jan

*A replacement post for 20 Jan 2014

I forgot to bring socks to work. Luckily the KK Mart did sell it early in the morning as it is a 24 hours convenient shop. I went to petrol station and 7 Eleven but no socks available there.

We had an issue on the honey cost sharing for mum. Sister cried due to this matter. I didn't like the way she handling things like asking contribution from others after product was already bought by her. It seemed like an indirect forcing for the contribution. Everyone has their own abacus. I knew you were not meant to force but it meant for others.

Wild Honey 19 Jan

*A replacement post for 19 Jan 2014

It was all about honey. We went for a honey meal as invited by sister. It was free as she used to buy a lot of honey from the shop. Later, sister bought a lot of honey again. The shop did have good strategy in boosting their sales. Low cost meal treat could bring more profit later.

Wild honey knowledge
1. Must keep in glass container or else it will burst due to the gas.
2. Must not use boiled water to make honey drinks.
3. Must not use metal spoon to transfer the honey.
4. Colours differentiate the types of honey.

Later we went home and I did a lot of house cleaning. Oh my gosh, there are so many air conditioners filters, fans and lights to be cleaned up. Exhausting......

Daily post vs Laziness 18 Jan

*A replacement post for 18 Jan 2014

Marking for examination papers was really tiring.

We went to shop for Chinese New Year and the coming ancestor prayer goods. The goods were kinda expensive as our money became smaller and smaller.

I took a nap as I was too tired.

At night, I chatted with one and the only one of my blogger reader who I used to communicate through the social media. He was curious on my replacement posts. He claimed that it was confusing and told me that there is a back date or date setting for these posts. In fact I knew it. I purposely noted the replacement to trace my laziness and delay in writing my daily post.

Pray for blessing 17 Jan

*A replacement post for 17 Jan 2014

We had a prayer at dad's birth day. This prayer was being done for once after the death based on the culture. I told myself not to to think too much or else I will miss dad a lot. In fact, I still missed him very much.

I felt really annoying during the prayer. Again, sister prayed for blessings for herself and also on behalf of me so I could have a girl friend soon. I wished I could have a normal life too. However, it only made me became sorrow and emotional. I was trying to control myself with silence.

Lesson & Examination 16 Jan

*A replacement post for 16 Jan 2014

It was my first lesson with a cohort of students (old and new students). I acted a bit too serious for this round. The atmosphere was weird and I felt uncomfortable throughout the lesson.

I had a final examination with my students. As expected, it ended later than my usual working time. Unexpectedly, the traffic was not so bad as I thought in my home journey.

Commissioner of oath 15 Jan

*A replacement post for 15 Jan 2014

It was a tedious task to arrange for the commissioner of oath. Arrangement for other to meet commissioner of oath even more difficult. Hope you could go by yourself.

The traffic was bad. Morning's (go work) and evening's (off work) were all  jam.

Cashier Problem 14 Jan

*A replacement post for 14 Jan 2014

I got shock when shopping at a hypermarket that I used to go. It cost me RM90++ with just a handy of items. After investigating, the cashier did mistake in scanning the same item for twice. Still unbelievable even this was justified. I thought there were still some mistake counts but the reality was not As a consumer, we must check our receipt before leaving the hypermarket. Cashiers could make mistakes!!!

Nexus10 vs Ipad 13 Jan

*A replacement post for 13 Jan 2014

I asked my students about tablet but it seemed like they had no idea because they are more familiar with smart phone.

Nexus10 or Ipad better? Surveying......

Shopping Issues 12 Jan

*A replacement post for 12 Jan 2014

A tiring day......

Collected house rental
Ate breakfast at the place where tenant works
Went hypermarket with some issues there (no barcode for an item, cashier scanned a few discount vouchers too early and created difficulty to use another rebate voucher on the total spending)
Went shopping complex (had lunch and watched show)

An exhausted day......

Sign Document 11 Jan

*A replacement post for 11 Jan 2014

I went to eat "Roti Canai" - Indian Flat Bread in a well known stall which is near to my old house. I was a bit shocked. The Roti with egg cost me RM2.50. Blood sucking.

I went to photocopy some documents nearby as well. Another bad experience as the shop assistant kinda noob in photocopying. He copied wrongly for some pages. I needed to bear the cost as I want to keep the wrong papers because they are confidential. Blood vomiting.

Later I met up with sister and the commissioner for oath to sign a document at a fast food chain restaurant. He was an old and friendly man. The signing process on the absence of hearing acknowledge form was quite smooth without problem.

Assess All vs All Assess 10 Jan

*A replacement post for 10 Jan 2014

I reached home quite late due to the short meeting that discussed on new assessment practice implementation among "green" educators.

I felt I was kinda defensive at the meeting. My chairman colleague was just too over-worried and demanding. He was worrying on the audit. However, in reality it wasn't practical to assess all of the the students' activities.

Work Dressing Code 9 Jan

*A replacement post for 9 Jan 2014

As usual, I had a chat with colleagues during lunch in cafeteria. We talked about the departmental meeting that was conducted at the previous day.

One of my colleague claimed that he felt uneasy at the meeting. The issue was about the dressing code for work. He felt that he was being attacked and insulted by the vice manager. Other colleagues agreed to him as well. However I thought it was not a big deal. They were just too sensitive.

In my point of view, my colleague created the conflict. He was too defensive in explaining his occasionally company casual wear. Perhaps he could just agree to the manager that he wasn't to be blamed as no dressing rule was set at the moment. He was quite firm about his attire was beneficial to the company in terms of promoting and representing. End up conflict occurred as other perception about professionalism attire to be standby was being challenged.

Inner of a Computer 8 Jan

*A replacement post for 8 Jan 2014

It was my first lesson of the computer subject for the third round. I was able to talked a lot easily and showed the students the "inner working part" of a computer. Motherboard, hardisk, RAM, CD drive, power supply, heatsink, processor and etc.

Emotional 7 Jan

*A replacement post for 7 Jan 2014

An emotional day for me again......
hiding in myself......
struggling......
society pressure......

Bank Issues 6 Jan

*A replacement post for 6 Jan 2014

OMG. I had a long chat with colleagues in cafeteria.

I had a fixed deposit in a local bank. It only can be withdrawn at the home branch. Such an inconvenience for me. Perhaps it was considered safer in this way?

Besides I received a call from another local bank due to my previous complaint. The bank charged me for an annual fee. However, by the time I insisted choose to open the account type (Basic Saving Account) which offered zero charge. How ridiculous was the staff who called me wasn't aware on this.

As usual for the night, I watched drama online.

What I Feel 4 Jan

*A replacement post for 4 Jan 2014

I watched the below videos from the internet. The videos caught my attention as some of the discussion brought out what I faced and felt all the while.

Video part 24:33 , 28:33 Good Point

Nine Block Fly Star 3 Jan

*A replacement post for 3 Jan 2014

A colleague shared a lot about the "feng shui" stuff. Nine Block Fly Star (九宫飞星), destiny and etc...... How true is it? I didn't really interested in depth. I only knew there are different stars(represented with digits) stay at different position each year. The method to locate the position is the summation of three digits must equal to a certain values for every angles.

After work, I went to buy fried rice at the same restaurant as the previous day. It was because mum wasn't around and no home dinner.

At night, I just watched television and surfed the internet.

Fish Head Mee Hun 2 Jan

*A replacement post for 2 Jan 2014

Morning:
There was no traffic jam at all. Perhaps I went to work very early as I left home at 6.05 am.

Afternoon:
As usual, I had lunch with my colleagues. I was kinda worrying and felt unsecure about my Facebook as my "fierce lady" colleague showed her interest to see what I wrote on my Facebook wall. In fact, this was triggered by other colleagues.

Evening:
I lost my way as I was trying to use a new route to go to the vegan restaurant after work. It is just located at a place which I pass by everyday on my way home. I ate the vegetarian Fish Head Mee Hun. It wasn't nice as the Mee Hun was too soft due to overcooked.

Night:
I planned the last lesson for the subject to be conducted in the following day. I had to prepare my students for the final examination.

Table Calendar Remark 1 Jan

*A replacement post for 1 Jan 2014

I was planing to fix the rain water drainage pipe at the rear of my house. The pipe was dropped again perhaps due to heavy rain when we went to outstation. Unfortunately all the hardware shops were closed on that public holiday. I couldn't get the spare part to fix the pipe on wall.

It was the first day of 2014. Therefore I started to remark important dates in my table calendar.
Prayers, birthdays or any celebrations...... It seemed like almost every month does have events.

Prayer
1. Chinese New Year
2. Guan Yin (Birthday, Enlightenment Day and Renunciation Day)
3. Qing Ming Festival
4. Ancestor Memorials
5. Dragon Boat Festival
6. Ghost Festival
7. Mid Autumn Festival
8. Winter Solstice Festival

Fighting Virus 31 Dec

*A replacement post for 31 Dec 2013

After a long break due to annual leaves clearance, I went to work.

I felt quite sick and immediately sought for the panel doctor during work time. However, the doctor said I had no fever and she just gave me some vitamin C and Panadol. She said it might be the early stage of fever and asked me to drink more water. Before that, my colleague also helped me to checked body temperature with the ear type temperature checker. The checked result was a slightly low. She told me that it might be the stage of fighting with virus.

I had an early knocked off as it was the last day of the year 2013. I went to buy fruits for the coming prayer in the AEON BIG hypermarket alone. I shopped for some groceries as well including french bread and eggs as mum won't be around for quite some time. After shopping, I applied for the free hypermarket card as I thought I may need it in future. I went to buy my hair gel in Watsons also. The hypermarket was quite happening. Celebrities gym is in the hypermarket too.

Well Known Ice Cream 30 Dec

*A replacement post for 30 Dec 2013

Mum went to change the shoes that was being purchased previously. We bought some snacks for little nieces also.

I only got the chance to taste the well known ice cream in town after a several times of visit to my sister's place. The ice cream wasn't cheap. It was about RM3 per scoop. We tried for vanilla and chocolate flavour. I wasn't sure how good was it. It could say the ice cream especially the chocolate flavour quite solid and creamy.

Pacific 29 Dec

*A replacement post for 29 Dec 2013

I felt slightly better on the day.

We went to Pacific Star Mall. I could say the mall still has rooms for improvement. Anyway it has an impressive look from the outside. We had our lunch over there.

We went for prayer at a nearby temple as well.  Coincidentally, sister met her work place's canteen operator with her family over there.

On our way home, we spotted the elephant centre road sign board. We were trying to get there. It was still quite some distance to reach the destination. Unfortunately it was too late to pay a visit when we reached. The journey also wasn't smooth as brother-in-law was having some issue on calls about his works.

Sick vs Climate 28 Dec

*A replacement post for 28 Dec 2013

We went for a shopping at the nearest shopping mall to my sister's house. Mum and sister bought some clothes and shoes for themselves and nieces.

On the day, I felt kinda sick after a nap in the living room. Perhaps the fan's wind was too strong and cold. I didn't feel really well. Perhaps it was due to different climate? LOL.

Niece Orientation 27 Dec

*A replacement post for 27 Dec 2013

I accompanied my niece to her school orientation. There are only 3 classes for the new intake and each class has about 30 students based on the name lists on notice board. We went to school the quite early and first met my niece's class head teacher. She was quite a friendly person. The VIP and headmaster were giving speeches. Later, the discipline master gave some briefing on the school's rules and regulations. After that, parents and students were moved to the class for forms submission to the related head teachers.

Before we went home, we saw a cute little girl was crying in the school compound. She has big eyes and adorable face. Finally she got her mum. We were curious the parent could just let her child alone without companion.

Dream Tang Yuan 26 Dec

*A replacement post for 26 Dec 2013

We performed the prayer for dad as uncle had a dream about dad a day before. As spoken by aunt, dad didn't say anything as uncle was awaken by aunt since he was making noise during his sleep.

I went to buy fruits at the nearby groceries shop while aunt brought Tang Yuan (Glutinous Rice Balls) and Nasi Lemak for prayer. Aunt used to tell mum that she wanted to give us the Tang Yuan for prayer but ended up we didn't serve it at the Winter Solstice festival. She suspected maybe dad was asking for it. I wasn't sure how true was it but I really missed my dad.
