Living Cost 28 Oct

*A replacement post for 28 Oct 2013

I went to reload my Touch n Go card and got my festive & 20% toll rebate early in the morning at the toll office on my way to work. The rebate is a frequent travellers programme sponsored by Malaysian Government for all qualifed Touch ’n Go (TnG) card users who use the TnG card for toll payment at all highways from September 1, 2009 onwards. Should I be thankful and appreciate to the government for reducing my living cost which becoming higher from day to day? Should I deserve a better public transport instead of paying so much on the highway tolls?

I had my lunch at the cafeteria with my colleagues and coincidentally our school head was together with us. The ambient was kinda awkward. We were chatting while eating. Topic was surrounded with the recently announced 2014 budget which were the sugar subsidy cancellation and Goods and Services Tax (GST) implementation. It seemed like everyone was not happy with the new budget. Citizen will feel the pain of inflation very soon due to the chaining effect of petrol and sugar price increment recently.
